  • Ministry of Education and Culture, Cyprus (MOEC) – Coordinator

    The Ministry of Education and Culture (MOEC) is responsible for the administration of public and the supervision of private schools of pre-primary, primary and secondary level as well as the educational institutions of Post-Secondary and Tertiary level and the Universities. It prepares the educational budget, drafts new laws regarding education and sees to the implementation of existing ones.

    The Minister of Education and Culture is the liaison with the Cabinet for issues Culture, Youth and Sports, having relevant competence in these fields and represents the Republic of Cyprus at the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council of the European Union. Also, the MOEC is the most significant provider of Vocational Educational Training in the country. The MOEC leads the design and implementation the national lifelong learning strategy. It also participates in the Life Long Learning Programme Committee and it is the National Authority of the Youth in Action Programme. Currently, the MOEC employs 260 permanent and 130 contract based public servants. It also employs around 12000 teachers of all levels, 300 of which are seconded in the Ministry for tasks which require expertise in educational issues. Since 2009, an Office for European and International Affairs was created to enhance the quality of participation of MOEC in international fora and European Institutions and to facilitate the introduction of international best practices to the Cypriot Educational System.

    The Government of Cyprus launched in 2005 an ambitious Educational Reform envisioning the modernisation of the educational system so it can meet the challenges of the 21st century. The process included a structured dialogue with all relevant stakeholders. A basic pillar upon which adopted policies were formulated was the ET2020 strategy. A key measure of the reform, which is being materialised, is the development of new curricula and the introduction of the new subject Health Education, based on a broad conceptualization of health and coordinated by the Health and Citizenship Committee at the Health Education Office – where some of our team members belong.

  • UNIVERSITATEA DIN PITESTI (UPIT)

    University of Piteşti (UPIT) is a state university situated in the Southern part of Romania, in the Argeş County (120 kilometers from Bucharest). It has around 10,000 students. UPIT provides educational, training and research services, being an intellectual and academic community accredited by national and international quality agencies.

    The areas in which the university is active are: education & training; scientific & applicative research; guidance & counseling; professional orientation; international cooperation in different fields; publishing activities. University of Piteşti has about 800 staffs (academic and non-academic personnel). Its structure is composed of 11 faculties providing Bachelor, Master and PhD study programmes (www.upit.ro). The faculties are organized in departments. Beside faculties and departments, UPIT has also specialized units (Research Institute, Business and Technological Transfer Incubator, Institute for Training and Performance, Center for International Cooperation). It has previously participated and continues to be currently involved in a large number of transnational researches, mobility or strategic partnership projects (see www.cppdd.ro ).

    UPIT represents a strong educational factor for the SMEs in the region, which usually search its support in solving their economical, technological or managing problems. UPIT has also developed a collaborative network of partners which interconnects the university with the main employers and the local economic agents in the region.

  • UNIVERSITY OF PELOPONNESE (UOP)

    The University of the Peloponnese was founded in 2000 (Presidential Decree 13/2000). The seat of the University is in Tripolis. The University is being developed at the level of complete Faculties in the five capitals of the Prefectures in the Region of Peloponnese. The mission of the establishment and operation of the University of the Peloponnese, is the creative contribution to the development of higher education in Greece with high quality standards, that correspond to the content of studies, research and teaching requirements of a modern University with a National, European and International scope.

    The University of the Peloponnese refers to Greece and the Greeks, with the ambition to develop strong ties to the Greek community and become a focal point for cooperation and intellectual creativity for Greeks all over the world. Currently the University serves about 8.000 undergraduate and about 1.000 postgraduate and PhD students.

  • Centre for the Advancement of Research and Development in Educational - Technology (CARDET)

    CARDET is the leading centre for training and development in Cyprus, with partners around the world. Members of the CARDET team have successfully participated in more than 100 projects in over 30 countries, several of which were supported by the European Commission, the United Nations, Microsoft, and governments and agencies from around the world. The Management Team is supported by 10 members of the board/advisory board who are all international veterans in education, research, and evaluation.

    CARDET currently employs 30 full and part-time staff. The majority of team members hold graduate degrees (Masters and/or PhD) in areas like literacies, education, research, multimedia development, inclusive education and evaluation. CARDET follows a systemic and systematic process in thoroughly planning and executing projects and is ISO 9001 Certified for Quality in Management, Research and Education.

  • Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB)

    On July 1st 2013 Co Louth VEC and Co Meath VEC merged to form Louth & Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB). LMETB manages 18 Post Primary schools and one Primary school and is also responsible for an extensive range of Adult Services throughout both counties, including Adult Learning Services, Community Education, Back to Education Initiative, VTOS and Adult Guidance. LMETB is patron to 6 Community Schools. There are 8 Youthreach centres spread across the two counties and the Dundalk Regional Skills & Training Centre is under the governance of LMETB.

  • Municipio de Lousada

    The Municipality of Lousada is an institution of local public administration. It aims to pursuit the interests of the population in the territorial space of Lousada Council. The council of Lousada belongs to the district of Porto and has an extension of 95 Km2. The city assumes itself as the center of the region denominated Vale do Sousa since it is situated in its geographic center. It has approximately 50.000 inhabitants that are distributed within the 25 parishes of Lousada.
